SmartTimer is an easy-to-use timer that
can be imported into virtually any program (such as Powerpoint,
Keynote, Word, Excel) and will be displayed seamlessly on
the slide or page itself. It can be projected via a data projector
onto a screen without exiting the program being used and thus
can be used to guide the time allotted for any group task.
SmartTimer can be set up by a teacher/trainer (administrator)
to display on multiple computer screens for classroom use
or will function as a stand-alone on a desktop for home and
personal use.
Use
it in your presentations, use it to time your class, or yourself.
It is customizable for many different looks and uses.

For
Presenters:
The presenter chooses from a variety of backgrounds and sounds
and selects a unit of time. Once selected and saved, the SmartTimer
icon can be imported (or dragged) onto a presentation slide.
The SmartTimer displays the allotted amount of time as an
icon on the slide and, when activated by a click of the mouse
or remote control, counts up or down, minute by minute. When
the time is up, it makes the audible sound the presenter has
selected.
SmartTimer can be used for any session that involves sub-group
tasks. In management training it would be used, for example,
as subgroups debrief on a case study, a set of graphs, a video,
etc. There is a large and growing cadre of presenters in education
and business who are conducting such active and participative
workshops and courses.

For
Teachers/Trainers:
In education, teachers and trainers increasingly use what
is called 'cooperative learning' or group work in the classroom
which involves an allotted time for subgroup activities. Using
SmartTimer will keep your group on task and on time.
In a classroom setting, the teacher/trainer (administrator)
can set SmartTimer and activate it to display on multiple
computer screens in the classroom for group work or tests.

For
Home/Personal Use:
For home or office use, select a unit of time and use SmartTimer
as a stand-alone desktop utility timer that counts up or down
and sounds when the time is up. For example, it could be used
to allot a certain number of minutes to spend playing computer
games or doing research or homework.
